From Rescue Shelters to Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Jaime Hicks grew up in sunny Queensland with proud Swiss roots. Dr. Jaime says that from an early age, she felt a deep connection to animals. During her teenage years, volunteering at rescue shelters, her passion for animal welfare and medicine was truly sparked.
From that moment, she knew. Helping pets live healthier, happier lives wasn’t just something she loved—it was her calling.
Interest in Internal Medicine and Imaging
Dr. Jaime has a keen interest in Small Animal Internal Medicine, especially Neurology. She’s also drawn to unravelling the mysteries within diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Jaime hopes in the future to work towards becoming a specialist by completing internship and residency programs.
Life Outside the Clinic
When she’s not caring for pets, Dr. Jaime loves exploring local markets, getting outdoors, and diving into a good book.
At home, her world is kept lively by Luka, her cheeky Tibetan Spaniel cross Poodle. According to Jaime, Luka is “20% cuddly bear, 80% little terror”—and 100% adored.
Her bond with Luka gives her a special insight into the deep love and trust that pet parents place in their vets—and why it matters so much.
