Joseph Kerious: Healing Broken Bones, Saving Overlooked Lives

If you’ve ever spent time around Joseph, you’ll by sure have caught a taste of his infectious humour. But here’s something you may not know—Joseph is about to become a vet!

He’s been a much-loved technician here at Lilydale Vet Centre. And now we’re thrilled to welcome him into his next chapter as a fully-fledged veterinarian over the coming months!

Pushed to Help the Helpless

Joseph describes his journey into veterinary medicine as a calling. He once shared that seeing animals in pain—and feeling helpless about it—pushed him to face that fear and become part of their healing.

That calling became even more personal thanks to his own beloved companions, his dog Wilson and cat, Chelsea. They’ve been a special part of his journey every step of the way.

What Makes Joseph Tick

Joseph has a soft spot for orthopaedics—the excitement of watching poets get back up on their feet and walking is hard to beat.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him either diving into ancient history books or perfecting a coffee roast.

And maybe it’s just the coffee, but Joseph brings an uplifting energy to the hospital on every shift. His team describes him as cheerful, witty, and always bringing a feel-good vibe to the clinic.

Why We’re So Lucky to Have Him

Since joining us in July 2024, Joseph has brought heart, humour, and quiet determination with him. He’s not just here to treat animals—he’s here to stand up for them too.

One of his proudest moments? Advocating for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs to reduce mass euthanasia. His goal is simple but powerful: “To help as much as I possibly can.”

We couldn’t be more thrilled to support Joseph growing into his new role as a vet in Australia. And now, we can’t wait for you and your pets to experience the same warmth we already know so well.
