Dr. Miranda’s Journey: From Classroom Dreams to Compassionate Care

A Childhood Dream Turned into a Wish Come True!

For Dr. Miranda Oosthuizen, becoming a veterinarian wasn’t just a dream—it was the only option. From a young age, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was always the same: “I want to be a vet.

Her determination to pursue veterinary medicine was unshakable, even when teachers chuckled and pushed her to consider a backup plan. Reluctantly, she quipped, “Maybe I’ll be an actress.” 🤭

Dr. Miranda’s passion for animals, coupled with her perseverance in what was once a male-dominated field, has defined her journey. Today, she continues to live out her childhood dream every single day.

A Life Full of Colour and Curiosity

Her downtime is filled with music from The Killers, delicious greasy Mexican food, and rewatching her favorite movie, What Dreams May Come.
Don’t let her confidence and achievements fool you, she has one lingering fear—the dark!

Dr. Miranda shares her home with her beloved poodle pack, Selene and Bebi. Her love for animals extends beyond the clinic—African-painted dogs are her favourite species. She’s always drawn to nature, and when it comes to flowers, tulips win her gold medal. It’s no surprise her dream travel destination is the Serengeti, where she hopes to experience the natural world and its wildlife in their most authentic form.
