She doesn’t wear scrubs, but she runs the place.
Meet Squishy—our beloved clinic cat, queen of naps, and unofficial Practice Manager at Lilydale Vet Centre.
With a nose for snacks, a talent for keyboard sabotage, and a surprisingly solid attendance record, Squishy has earned her title one nap at a time.
From Rescue to Royalty
Squishy’s journey to management began when she realised that living in a vet clinic came with major perks—free rent, endless attention, and unlimited cuddle potential.
She quickly made herself at home and has since been promoted (by herself) to the title of Overlord of Lilydale. And honestly? We’re all just living in her kingdom.
Her qualifications? A grooming course to maintain her fluff, the Prettiest Lady of Lilydale award, and a serious passion for all things food-related.
A Day in the Life of Squishy
Each morning, Squishy waits for Emily to arrive before beginning her clinic inspections and morning zoomies.
After “helping” set up the day’s procedures, she schedules in some strategic hammock time until mid-afternoon meetings with Miranda and Kalinda.
Her afternoons are usually reserved for gentle floor sweeping with her fluffy paws and quietly monitoring dental patients as they recover. Then—yes, you guessed it—it’s time for another nap.
Passion Projects and Hobbies
While others specialise in surgery or diagnostics, Squishy’s focus is nutrition. If it’s edible, she’s interested.
When she’s off-duty, her favourite hobbies include eating, purring, and receiving love. She’s also the only pet at Lilydale Vet Centre—and she absolutely loves it.
Her snack of choice? Hill Biome dry food. It’s her go-to for powering through a tough shift.
She also has the occasional side hustle in IT, where she’s known for turning our computer screens into new languages we didn’t know they could speak.
Advice from the (Very Relaxed) Manager
Squishy’s wisdom for pet parents?
“I’m not lazy—I’m just very relaxed. It’s a cat thing.”
We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Drop by and say hello—she’ll be the one in the hammock… supervising, of course.
