Ever met someone who can talk about medieval knights, ancient fossils, and the best way to calm a nervous pet—all in one conversation? That’s Nurse Kalinda Korkman. At Lilydale Vet Centre, we’re proud to have her on our team, bringing a unique blend of curiosity, care, and science to every pet she helps.
From Ancient History to Animal Care
Kalinda’s path to veterinary nursing wasn’t traditional. With degrees in renaissance history, zoology, and palaeontology, she was set to study the past—until a chance opportunity at a vet clinic changed everything.
When she discovered a local clinic was looking for trainee nurses, she saw the perfect way to combine her love for science with hands-on animal care. From that moment on, she was hooked. Now, she thrives in the fast-paced world of veterinary nursing, helping pets and their families every day.
A Deep Passion for Learning and Wildlife
Kalinda’s love for animals goes beyond the clinic. While she enjoys general practice, her long-term goal is to work with wildlife and captive animals. She is always looking for ways to expand her knowledge and skills to make a greater impact on the lives of animals.
