Meet Dr Xanthea Pierre: A Different Kind of Strength in Veterinary Care Paw Print

Dr. Xanthea Pierre, Compassionate Veterinarian At Lilydale Vet Centre, Providing Expert Pet Care, Animal Health Advice, And Emergency Veterinary Support With Heart And Strength.
Meet Dr Xanthea Pierre: A Different Kind of Strength in Veterinary Care

With a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Dr Xanthea was drawn to the profession by a lifelong soft spot for animals—and an equally strong compassion for their humans.

What drives her every day is helping patients who can’t explain what hurts or why they’re scared. She loves the puzzle-solving side of veterinary medicine—listening closely, piecing together subtle clues, and gently guiding pets toward comfort and healing.

Xanthea also has a heartfelt message for pet parents: trust your instincts. If something feels “off,” even if it seems small, it’s always worth checking in.

She never worries about a “worried owner”—she’d much rather see a happy, healthy pet early than later, when things are more serious.

A Special Place for Cats

Xanthea has a particular passion for medicine, with a strong focus on feline medicine. Cats—especially the shy, anxious, or misunderstood ones—hold a special place in her heart.

She has a remarkable ability to earn their trust, meeting them where they are and celebrating the quiet wins that others might miss.

A tense cat is finally relaxing. A wary patient accepting a treat. These moments may seem small, but to Xanthea, they mean everything.

The Heart of Her Day: Consultations

Her favourite part of the day? Consultations. The conversations. The stories.

The chance to meet pets and their people at all stages of life, and to be there when reassurance, clarity, or kindness is needed most.

As the third Dr Pierre in her family—after a human surgeon and a dentist—Xanthea brings the title into a new realm: veterinary medicine. She wears it with warmth and curiosity, and we’re so grateful to have her caring for our patients and their people.

Where She Recharges

At home, Xanthea’s world is ruled by two cats: an older, cranky rescue boy who made the big move from New Zealand and never left, and a six-month-old kitten who brings equal parts chaos and joy.

Outside of work, she enjoys cozy, creative pursuits—baking, sewing, or curling up with a good book and a cat (or two). When she’s out, she loves exploring Melbourne’s food scene, always with a coffee close by.
