When your pet feels unwell, you want a calm, caring Veterinarian beside you. That is exactly what you will find with Dr Holly Howard Fegan.
Where Her Love for Animals Began
Dr Holly recently graduated from the University of Liverpool in the UK. She has worked with many animals, from cows and horses to reptiles.
Her love for animals started at just four years old. Growing up, she cared for guinea pigs, snakes, terrapins, and now her cat.
Helping pets feel better is not just her job, it is her purpose. She feels proud of supporting families through both joyful and difficult times.
Curious Mind, Gentle Hands
Dr Holly finds surgery fascinating and loves working with her hands. She also enjoys internal medicine and solving tricky medical puzzles.
She likes taking time to truly understand each pet’s story. Careful listening helps her build clear and thoughtful treatment plans.
The best part of her day is meeting your cats. She admits she is a big cat person, but loves dogs too.
Life Beyond the Clinic
Originally from Brighton in the UK, she loves cold water swimming. Now in Melbourne, she is keen to explore local beaches and welcomes your tips.
Outside work, she enjoys reading, running, and gym sessions. This summer, she hopes to learn surfing and try something new.
Her own cat, Pearl, lives with her family back in the UK. Pearl is a big, fluffy, grey baby who still gets daily video calls.
Advice for Happy Pets
Dr Holly believes bored pets can become stressed or mischievous. She encourages simple daily play to keep busy minds happy.
Adding enrichment at home can make a big difference. Puzzle toys, short training sessions, and safe new smells all help.
“Pets are smarter than we think,” she says with a smile. “A happy pet truly helps create a happy life.”
She is a huge tea drinker from the UK and always loves a cuppa. We are so excited for you to meet her at Lilydale Vet Centre.
