Eating anti-inflammatory foods doesn’t only benefit us humans, but also our fur babies! Lots of diseases stem from chronic inflammation. In fact, cancer, arthritis, and digestive disease are all linked to inflammation. Eating a healthy diet is important to keep inflammation at bay. Feeding your fur baby anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as turmeric and flaxseeds, in their homemade snacks is a great idea. Why not give this recipe a go? Your dog will thank you.
Ingredients:
3 cups instant quick oats
1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
½ teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons peanut butter
¾ cup water
1 large egg
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180ºC and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together.
Add water, egg and peanut butter.
Mix ingredients together until thoroughly combined with a spoon. Then use your hands to knead dough. It will be very wet and sticky! Let it sit on the bench for 15 minutes, allowing the oats to soak up the water and egg.
Sandwich the ball of dough in between two pieces of baking paper. With a rolling pin, roll dough to about 1/4″ thick. Stamp with cookie cutters and place biscuits on the baking sheet.
Bake at 180ºC for about 30 minutes, or until cooked through.
